Hello everyone! Busy summer limited my time but finally I had some occasion to write a new post! Today we will move into a bit different direction and check a band that was a massive force in American soul music from late 50s up to 80s. American vocal group The Delta Rhythm Boys change their line-up extensively through the years they were active (apart from one member that was a cornerstone of that band for all years of their career). Once again I turned to blind luck and picked an album that was telling me absolutely nothing. I commit to Love is a first solo album of Howard Hewett. His career started in late 70's, when he joined a Grammy winners Shalamar. It was a take to rise for Howard as he established his voice well in earlier mentioned genres. When in 1985 this cult band split, young vocalist started his solo career. Only one year later his first album saw the daylight and very quickly won hearts of millions. My colleague from work suggested to check his work and album I love you, H oneybear quickly jumped on my speakers. As soon as I started to play the title song I was enjoying it. Father John Misty is a pseudonym of Josh Tillman. This 38 year-old musician/producer has started his career in 2004 and since then he’s been working with many artist across whole USA. The album we talk about today is a second under Father John Misty moniker. All song are very approachable and are combination of folk, rock and electronic music. Many tunes could be without an effort on top of many charts, not only in the United States. You can’t say a bad word about level of production and craftsmanship of this album. Invisible Limits – Demand for Supply (1987) Hello ladies and gentlemen! Today I want to take you for a trip around music style that exploded on the curve of synth era: Coldwave and Darkwave. Looking for my inspirations I spent some time on drinks with Dj Vilkas who suggested this turn. Hello beautiful creatures! Another Sunday and another meeting with positive reviews! Today I‘m going to talk about a band which was one of the first bands signed by legendary label Megaforce Records. I will not lie to you: metal music is close to my heart but when I was doing my research I couldn’t recall anything from this band. Their career maybe wasn’t long and extremely successful but nonetheless, they left us a couple of good tracks on their most popular album Metal of Honor . Band started their journey in 1979 and a couple of years later they signed a mayor label contract. The alum I will be reviewing today was their second, after T.T. Quick EP from two years before. Hello readers! Today I will guide you through a genre I knew almost nothing about but with Last Fair Deal I could discover a new promise land of music. Rory Block is a well respected guitarist who started her career in early 60's as a 15 year old teenage girl. Next 20 years she was trying to land a success and finally, after signing with a professional record label in 1981, she made her mark. She was always inspired by classical blues guitarists and Mississippi Delta blues style (another thing I had no clue that exists!). Her record from 2003 was 24th(sic!) album, first with independent label Telarc. So with no further ado, let me share with you my experience.
